Swedish printers

I know I'm a computer science major. I can dish out theory and algorithms like crazy. But I don't know a thing about computers. I can't solve your computers problems. I can't even solve my own.

Example #1: I have shut down my computer three times this semester. This is not because I think computers run better without being turned on and off repeatedly. This is because I have an Ethernet card that won't allow the computer to boot up when it is in. So if the computer is off and I need to turn it on, I have to take off the case, push the power button to turn it on, wait 20 seconds, install the card very carefully so as to not touch anything else inside the computer, and then put the case back on. I've been doing this since my sophomore year. Yes, that's right. I, computer science major, install hardware while the power is on.

Example #2: I installed my printer about 2 years ago. When the "Found New Hardware" wizard came up and asked me what language I would like to use, I accidentally hit Swedish instead of English. For 2 years, my printer has been in Swedish. Yes, I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Yes, I have deleted the drivers and reinstalled them. But it's still in Swedish!

I like to make the best out of a bad situation so I have tried to learn some Swedish off of the printing menus. "Utkast" means low quality, and "hog" mean high quality. "For gransking" is draft quality, I think. I'm not really sure about that one yet. Occasionally, I will get a error message that says, "Lag blackniva i svart patron." I know its an error message because the yellow triangle with an exclamation point accompanies it. The message gives me two options: "Bestalla tillbehor" or "Fortsatt."

I always pick "Fortsatt."

It says "low ink level in the black cartridge" and the options are to "order parts" or "continue".
