Day One Done
Day one of work: completed. If I work for 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year, for 40 years, I have 9600 days to go. Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead.
Is it a bad sign if my line of thinking is "I hope I like working in general" rather than "I hope I like working at Company X"? I mean, no summers? No spring break? 9601 days of work?
I guess if Psalm 84:10 is true, "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere," then it will only take about 9.6 days of heaven for me to forget about work all together.

Nope, no spring break. 2 days for Christmas. That's been a tough adjustment for me.
Suzie, you and your Mom have a gift to do the kind of work you are doing. In the movie "Chariots of Fire," Eric Liddell said "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run, I feel His pleasure." When you put your gift to work, I think it won't feel so much like work, and you will also feel God's pleasure with your talent.
And if that doesn't do it for you, just keep thinking about payday, your 401k, and your accrued vacation. It works for me.

You could become a teacher. The pay's not as good, but the vacation time....heeaaveen....
Yesterday, I woke up at 11:00 a.m., did nothing until around 5 when I decided that it wouldn't be good for my legs to atrophy and so I ran a mile. Stayed up until 2 a.m. that night. We were going to leave for Abilene for a wedding on Friday but decided to go on Thursday instead because...no reason. (My wife teaches also)
Seriously, kids can be a big pain, but you've got two months to forget about them.
Now that you good and hate me, have a great day. Number 1 rule, DON'T DO SOMETHING YOU HATE!!! Get out! Life's too short!

I've been praying for you, it's friday now... how are you doing? But if you like what you do you'll make it through "spring break"... if you don't like what you do I hope it pays well then you can finance the things you do like.
